A game between two teams who are badly in need of a win. In their first encounter this season it ended 3-3.  In fact only 1 in last 9 matches between these teams there were less than 3 goals.

The home team is very productive this season, but is also conceiving many goals. The goaldifference of 40-60 in 25 games speaks for itself. Players who appear regularly on the scoresheet are Lamprou. Novakovich and Diemers. recently all 3 proved to be in good form.

Emmen is in the relegation zone, at the start of the season everyone expected them to be, but it is surprising how well they have been playing and not always getting rewarded for it in many occasions.

Ajax is without two of their strongest players: Frenkie de Jong and Hakim Ziyech. The team will be shuffled around. Rightback El Mazraoui will play in midfield along with Schöne. At rightback we will see the return of Joel Veltman, who was out for over a season.

Zwolle will play a tight game, knowing Ajax is a very dangerous team at the moment. The away team is not very confident themselves, last 3 games they didn't score a single goal.

Ajax is surely favorite, but its not likely there will be many goals. As they progressed in the Champions League the home team is playing many games in March and April. When they reach a score of 2-0 today, they will surely take the pace off and try to freewheel until the end. Zwolle is not able to be really dangerous. Under 5 goals expected.

Both teams are in good form: MVV Maastricht winning 5 of their last 6 matches, Almere 4 out of 5. On top of that the teams have been productive.
Despite their performance in last weeks, Almere trainer Santoni was sacked by the board this week, in an official statement it was because of "differences in opinion how to reach the ambitious goals of the club". I am expecting the players will be extra keen on showing their abilities under new interim manager Tobiasen.

Home team MVV is looking for another win to maintain their high position in the "3rd period", winning such a "period" means qualification for a place in the play-offs at the end of the season. They have a quality attack, winger Jordy Croux rejoined the club in January and big central striker van den Hurk is an ideal player to play with attacking tactics. Both van den Hurk and leftwinger Schroijen have produced 10 goals this season.

The game is played on artificial pitch, both teams are used to that. The heavy rainfall of this week will not effect the pitch conditions. When finding odds of 1.65 and above, I advise taking the bet.

This season we see a lot of goals in Vitesse's home games, 2 games ended in 1-1 and in the other 10 encounters we witnessed 3 to 6 goals; 46 goals accumulated for the 12 home matches. There is no indication it will be different in this match. The Vitesse players with most creativity, Odegaard and Linssen, are in splendid form. Striker Dauda was substituted last match after a bad fall, but it turned out he has no head injury.

Feyenoord is battling for rank 3, which is good for direct qualification for the Europa League next season. The strikers Jorgensen and van Persie both dislike playing on an artificial pitch. This game is played on real grass, so thats a bonus. They saw 2nd goalkeeper Vermeer pick up a groin injury in their last game (4-0 win over Emmen), he is doubtful for this game. Nr. 1 keeper Bijlow is still out for some weeks.

Both teams have their mind on attack. Expecting an open game with lots of chances. Valuable odds from 1.70 and higher.

AZ playing very offensive, all of their strikers (Young Stengs, Idrissi, Seuntjens) and also their offensive midfielder Til are confident and in excellent form. In the last two matches they have been conceiving goals and that is exactly what I expect against PEC Zwolle. The home team is in need of a result after a few disappointing results, but they have been creating enough chances since coach Jaap Stam took over early January. I expect a spectacular match.

AZ looking to close in on Feyenoord on rank 3, PEC Zwolle in need of leaving the relegation zone. Odds of 1.65 or more have value for over 2.5 goals.

De Graafschap was boosted in their relegation battle by this season's first win in an away game: 0-3 at PEC Zwolle. The new tactics with 3 very quick strikers is working for them after the winterbreak, winning 3 out of 6 matches and scoring 11 goals during those winning games. Players to watch are Benschop, Burgzorg and attacking midfielder El Jebli.

ADO Den Haag is just 3 points away from the dangerous relegation positions. Against Ajax their most productive player from the first half of the season, El Khayati, finally scored a goal in 2019. Central striker Necid is a known goalscorer, he will start. The game against low placed de Graafschap is very important, in fact both teams need 3 points.

De Graafschap's last home games were very entertaining, I expect the same today. Odds of 1.70 for over 2.5 goals is a very worthy bet.
 

Heerenveen is showing progress in their performance, especially creating more chances and scoring goals. The team seems to realise that they are close to the relegation zone and is battling to keep out. Striker Lammers and attacking midfielder Vlap are eyecatchers.

Willem II managed to reach the Cup final in a hard thought win over AZ Alkmaar after extra time and penalty kicks on Thursday. The team is likely to be tired and not fully recovered in this Sunday afternoon match, less then 3 days after the semi final of the Cup.

Main question will be if Willem II is able to focus on this game, being tired after 120 minutes of play on Thursday and with the prospect of the Cup final. Also a factor can be that the traditional Carnival activities have started this weekend. During these festive days the teams from the southern part of the country tend to lose more points. The far away game in the north will not sound attractive for many of their fans. The last away win for Willem II in Heerenveen was in the year 2000. The following 15 editions of this match resulted in 10 Heerenveen wins and 5 draws.

There is enormous value in odds of 1.90 for a Heerenveen win, worth taking !

In 26 matches this season Jong Ajax has produced 52 goals, Den Bosch 45 goals. This is already a reason to expect something from this game.
Entertainment is the right word for a Jong Ajax match. The young team has a tedency to attack relentlessly, but is sometimes forgetting about creating a solid defence. In last home game they trashed Roda JC (5-1), winger Cerny was a constant threat for the opponents defence. 18 year old striker Lassina Troare from Burkina Faso is also a proven goalscorer, showing no signs of needing time to adapt to the Ajax way of play.

Opponent Den Bosch has been leading the league for some time, but recently they have been losing points. The team has a few experienced midfielders (Holla, Beltrame and Verrbeek), combined with talented strikers Sappinen and Blummel they should be able to recover from the bad run.

Odds of around 1.70 voor 3 goals or more are worth taking for this fixture.
 

When Vitesse plays at home the crowd is sure of a highly entertaining match with a lot of goals, the 11 home games this season produced a total of 41 goals. In recent weeks Vitesse's attack is in good shape, mainly due to the form of Odegaard (on loan from Real Madrid) and Brian Linssen. Striker Dauda proved to be productive also in last weeks 0-3 win over Emmen. So far Vitesse has managed to keep only one clean sheet at home (4-0 against Heracles).

NAC Breda's situation is very acute. They are bottom of the league with a gap of 4 points to the team above them. In 6 matches in 2019 they scored only one goal. In attack striker te Vrede made his comeback last week, he was the only player that showed fighting spirit in the goalless draw against Groningen. Winger Rosheuvel will return after an internal disciplinary suspension, with his pace he can create danger on the counter attack in a game that will be dominated by Vitesse.

The home team is likely to score at least 3 times and even some surprise attacks from NAC, badly in need of a result, is not to be ruled out. Good value in odds of above 1.70.

Heerenveen is fighting to get out of the relegation zone, which they showed last week when they were 2-0 down but managed to win 2-4 at Fortuna Sittard. Striker Lammers and midfielder Vlap have proven to be dangerous and productive players this season, winger van Bergen also in good shape recently. However in home games they have been struggling in defence, only managed one clean sheet all season.

After the winter break Willem II has more variation in attack. After selling center striker Sol, who produced most Willem II goals, it was a worry who will step in to replace him. Young striker Isak (on loan from Dortmund), Greek winger Vrousai (from Olympiakos) and midfielder Crowley have been filling the gap that Sol left behind.

I expect an open game, Heerenveen tends to take control in home games, but also is sloppy in changeover when losing the ball; 3 or more goals high likely in this game.

Only a win is a satisfactory result for NAC Breda fans as they demanded the squad "will do everything possible to leave the no. 18 place of the league in probably the most important game of the season". After the winter break their results have been poor but the good news is that striker Te Vrede returns after injury. This will mean they can play in an opportunistic style in front of the fanatic home fans. Winger Rosheuvel received a disciplinary suspension from coach van der Gaag.

Opponent Groningen is in an excellent form, winning 4 of their 5 last matches, main reasons are new signings Sierhuis and Bruns who restored the balance in the team. Players to watch in attack tonight are Mahi (finally 100% fit) and Doan (returned from Asia Cup in outstanding form). 

NAC Breda will take a lot of risks to win this game, leaving confident Groningen with many chances in counter attack.

This is one of the most valuable picks in this week's Eredivisie games. Home team Emmen are playing a very attractive passing game, people are comparing it to the the tiki taka Barcelona tactics. In home games their morale is high after a 2-2 draw against League-leaders PSV Eindhoven, recovering from being two goals behind. In the following game they managed to score 3 goals against ADO Den Haag (3-2 win).

Every Vitesse game this season has been great for neutral fans, the team is creating many opportunities in attack, but defence is far from solid. The man to watch is versatile Bryan Linssen, the guy of only 170 centimeters is already good for 5 goals using his head. Striker Darfalou picked up an horror injury in last game, he will probably be replaced by new signing Dauda, a young talent from Ghana on loan from Anderlecht.

AZ is the team with the best performance in 2019, winning all 6 Eredivisie league and cup-games, with an astonishing goaldifference of 19-0. Young talent Calvin Stengs is already linked with the top teams in the Netherlands. Important midfielder Guus Til managed to find his form again.

Willem II isn't on a bad run either, in the 6 games they played this year their goaldifference is 10-9. With 3 excellent new players (Isak and Vrousai in attack and Tapia in central midfield) they are creating more chances than in 2018. Creative midfielder Crowley is involved in many of their goals.

It's on the cards that AZ will try to dictate this game, being in confident mood. I expect Willem II to be dangerous in counter attack. A scoresheet with many goals is the most probable outcome.

These two teams have shown good form recently. In last 6 home games RKC Waalwijk managed to win 4 times.
And in 6 of 8 last home games there were 3 goals or more. Their 4-3-3 tactics with 2 very quick wingers Maatsen and Seijs seems to be working against teams that have much of the ball, like opponent Volendam.
Volendam managed to recover form a rocky start in August and September (only 3 points in 8 games) and is now a solid mid-table team. In last 8 away games Volendam scored at least one goal, but in these games they only managed to keep one clean sheet.
Expecting Volendam to have most possession, but RKC dangerous in counter attack, both teams very familiar with the artificial pitch.
Over 2.5 goals is the most likely result for valuable 1.65 odds.

Vitesse is known for attractive home games, the 10 home games so far were already good for 36 goals. Striker Linssen, who is in good form, returns after suspension as well as attacking wingback Buttner.
This season Willem II is performing better in away games than at home, also the total goal tally in the away away matches is impressive: 38 goals in 11 matches. In January striker Sol left the team, but he is replaced with 3 quality players in attack, amongst them the "next Zlatan": Alexander Isak, on loan from Dortmund.
Big value in odds of 1.82 for over 2.5 goals, in fact any game in the Eredivisie with such high odds is worth considering.

The two teams with possibly the most potential of winning the league are meeting eachother. For Sparta it is a decider: they desperately need a win to reduce the 8 point gap and have the home advantage. In home matches they are still unbeaten this season and they scored 32 goals in 11 games. Sparta is playing in an attacking style, striker Veldwijk already good for 17 goals this season.
Twente is leader of the league and performing very well: winning last 8 matches. In all 11 away matches they managed to score at least one time and they have an unbeaten away run since November 9. The 3 Spanish players in the squad are lifting the team to a higher level. 

Two strong teams in attack, Sparta is the best home team against an opponent that is full of confidence I expect a match with a lot of goals.

Heerenveen has a poor record at home this season, only keeping a clean sheet one time. Striker Lammers and attacking midfielder Vlap are in good form. New coach Jaap Stam had a flying start with PEC Zwolle, winning his first three games. Last week it was a spectacular 4-3 win over Utrecht after being 1-3 down. The squad is very confident in attack but in defence there is room for improvement.
Expecting an open game, Heerenveen eager for home success, Zwolle looking to continue their winning streak. Many mistakes and many chances which result in over 2.5 goals.
